RefillFlowby SmartFACT

EARLY-ACCESS GUIDE · UPDATED 3 October 2026

Prepare your first refill loop

What to set up before the first refill: items, locations, stores queues, containers, cards, scanners and the stores printer.

This guide describes the service scope. Access and the workflow supported for your site are confirmed during onboarding.

Start with one loop

Start with the refill you repeat most: one item, one stores queue, one line location, a fixed refill quantity and two labelled containers. A focused first loop shows the time saved more clearly than an attempt to card the whole factory at once.

The reference data

Enter it by hand or preview a CSV import. For each loop you need:

  • The item's code and unit, exactly as stores and the line know it.
  • The receiving location on the line, with its own card.
  • The stores queue that normally supplies it.
  • A fixed whole-number refill quantity.
  • Each physical container that circulates in the loop.

Cards, scanners and the stores printer

Container and location cards print as 100 × 150 mm labels or on A4. Floor stations use any barcode scanner that types like a keyboard, checked with the station's scanner test. The stores printer connects through SmartFACT PrintStation, and its tickets are checked on your real label stock, including a scan of the printed barcode, before the loop goes live.

People and stations

Everyone signs in with their own SmartFACT account, and an administrator assigns their roles. A floor station is enrolled for its receiving locations, and each operator signs in at it by name, so every request and receipt is attributed to a person, not a shared login.

Describe the problem first

The enquiry form is for general workflow information. Do not send stock exports, item lists or personal details through it. Onboarding sets out how your data is handled.
